Too High To Riot- Bas
Recently, Kanye West release an amazing gospel album via Tidal and I couldnt not listen to that greatness. I downloaded Tidal. I decided to go premium since I love music, Im a ROC fan for life and Formation.
Over the past few weeks ive been exploring the app. I love the musical selection available. I can go from listening to Gil Scott-Heron to the Beatles with ease. The playlist are beast. Seriously.
Today I discovered Bas.
Well, lemme tell you about how I discovered him. I was in the video section of Tidal viewing 2 Chains/Lil Wayne's new video for "Bounce." That shit rocked. I was feeling fantastic after viewing the video. I decided to peruse the other available videos. Honestly, I clicked on Night Work because J Cole was featured. The first time I listened I was like, "this is cool." I took note of the artist and moved on to listen to ColleGrove.
After listening to that greatness, I decided to find more music from Bas. I was not disappointed. I listened to his songs in the order presented. I wasnt really swayed by Housewives. Its cool but it wasnt great, in my opinion. The next song to play is My Nigga Just Made Bail. Listen to me, that song ignited my budding fan flame for Bas. While listening to that great song, the suggested song popped up and it was called Too High to Riot.
Listen, that song touched me deeply. I lost myself in that 2:42 I became a fan. His music is in rotation. Its just him. J Cole isnt featured and he goes in. Im just too high too riot. Truth. The wordplay is crazyyyyy. Being that I was in my city, Baltimore, too high to to riot...yeah. I feel that he captured my sentiments perfectly.
"Im too high for games and im too high for liars/Fuck TSA cuz im too high for flying/Fuck NSA cuz they too high they do all the spying/Fuck all the leaders thats too high off power they do all the lying and treat us like prisoners/ I mean who is the enemy here..."
